C'è sempre un viaggio da ricominciare!

Eccoci di nuovo in mare!
Stavolta per un breve giro guidato delle isole di Ischia e Procida.
Pochi amici, poco sole, poco vento... un viaggio 'facile' per gustarci il kayak!

Here we are again on the sea!
We're starting now a sea kayak guided trip around Ischia and Procida islands.
Few friends, not many sun, moderate wind... an 'easy' trip to enjoy sea kayaking!

Eubea kayak tour successfully completed!

Il viaggio in kayak all'Eubea si è ormai concluso.
Abbiamo completato il periplo dell'isola nei tempi previsti, nonostante il Meltemi sempre presente, con Beaufort 7-8 nelle ultime tre settimane...
Siamo anche andati a fare una capatina alla 'vicina' isola di Skiros e le traversate sono state molto divertenti!

L'Eubea è un'isola che merita di essere visitata in kayak per la terra, il mare ed il vento, ma soprattutto per la sua gente, che ci ha riservato ovunque un'accoglienza tanto calorosa da emozionarci ogni volta...
Ci siamo innamorati anche di quest'isola!

The sea kayak trip around Eubea Island is now accomplished.
We completed the periplus of the island according to the plan, despite the presence of the Meltemi wind and the weather forecast with Beaufort 7-8 for the last three weeks...
We also paddled around the 'near' Skiros Island during a week and the crossings to and from there were really very exciting!

The Eubea island is really special, for its land, sea and wind. Above all for its people, that anywhere have reserved us such a fantastic welcome every time...
So we easily fell in love with this island!

Si parte!!!!!
E' finalmente arrivato il momento tanto atteso: il viaggio all'Eubea!
Tenteremo di completare il periplo dell'isola greca, la seconda più grande dopo Creta, nella prossime quattro settimane, con la solita andatura turistica di 25-30 km al giorno che ci è tanto congeniale.
Partiremo da Calcide e terremo la terra alla nostra destra...

The great day is finally arrived: we leave today for the Eubea sea kayak tour!
We attempt the circumnavigation of the second largest island of Greece during in 4 weeks, with our usual touristic daily paddle of 12-15 nautical miles.
We start from Chalkida and we leave the land on our right...

My Greenland paddle around Europe...

La mia pagaia groenlandese verde è finalmente tornata a casa!
Ha girato mezza Europa negli ultimi mesi, e quasi sempre senza di me!
L'avevo caricata sul camper dell'amico Marco per andare al Symposium Pagaia di Llança a fine marzo.
Poi avevo chiesto agli amici catalani Marc y Anna di caricarla sul loro furgone diretto ad Anglesey, Galles.
Lì l'ho usata ai primi di maggio per l'esame 5 stelle BCU e per le varie scorribande tra le tidal races...
L'ho quindi affidata a Phil Clegg che l'ha portata al famoso centro canoistico di Plas Menai.
Da allora ne ho un po' perso le tracce perchè sarebbe dovuta tornare in Italia con Ashley St.John-Claire, il nostro mitico insegnante del corso BCU per L1 Coach tenuto sul Lago Maggiore in maggio. Però i suoi piani di viaggio all'ultimo momento sono cambiati ed invece di scendere in auto ha dovuto prendere un aereo...
Così la mia preferita ha vagato per la terra di Albione per qualche altra settimana, toccando l'Isola di Skye, Glasgow ed Edimburgo... Finalmente Ashley e Henry si sono incontrati e la consegna è stata sancita da una foto segnaletica su facebook.
Adesso che la pagaia verde è tornata in Italia non poteva mancarne un'altra!
E' arrivata giusto in tempo per ripartire: domenica prossima saremo insieme sull'isola di Eubea in Grecia...

My green Greenland paddle with Henry and me on Lugano lake...

My green Greenland paddle is finally come back home!
In the last months it moved all around half Europe, always without me!
I first took it to Spain to the Symposium Pagaia in Llança at the end of March.
Then I asked to my friends Marc & Anna to take it on their van to Anglesey, Wales.
I used it there for my 5 star assessment and than I left it in Plas Menai sea kayak center.
Since then I have lost its traces. It would be come back to Italy with Ashley St.John-Claire for the L1 Coach course on Maggiore Lake last May. However his plan changed and my paddle remained some more weeks alone on the UK, travelling aroung the island of Skye, Glasgow and Edinburgh...
Finally Ash and my Scottish-Italian friend Henry met each other and took a marvellous picture on facebook. This one is to celebrate the way back to Italy!
The green paddle has come back just in time: next Sunday we all togheter will paddle around Eubea Island in Greece...
