Due belle notizie dal sito ufficiale della FICK: Francesco Gambella è partito per la Victoria Lake Expedition, in cui coniuga come sempre la passione canoistica e la solidarietà internazionale, e la grande famiglia dei tecnici federali conta ora 9 nuovi Maestri di Canoa da Mare, tra cui alcuni Insegnanti Sottocosta, che abbiamo avuto modo di conoscere ed apprezzare nel tempo per il crescente entusiasmo e la brillante personalità... A  quando un viaggio tutti insieme ?!?

News from the Kayak Canoe Italian Federation: our friend Francesco Gambella starts for his new Lake Victoria Expedition in Africa to conjugate kayak passion and international cooperation, and some other sea kayak friends have got the title of Federal Caoches last week end... Very good news!

Crime scene

Piove forte. La città fuori dalla finestra dorme sotto una pesante coltre grigia. Fa freddo. La sagoma di un uomo giace inerme sulla scena del crimine!

Le istruzioni  della Kokatat suggeriscono di utilizzare una pentola per allargare il lattice del collo qualora dovesse risultare troppo stretto: 4 pollici più larga del diametro del collo, solo per qualche giorno, fin tanto che il lattice non cede un poco, altrimenti bisogna tagliarne via una strisciolina.

Anche per i polsini delle maniche vale la stessa regola e noi abbiamo utilizzato quattro bei bicchieri di vetro. Le cerniere hanno bisogno di manutenzione continua e dovremmo procurarci un lubrificante adeguato.

La giornata uggiosa non ci ha invogliato ad uscire in kayak: la prova in acqua delle nuove mute stagne è stata così rinviata al prossimo fine settimana: al mare, a Bibione, col nuovo Baidarka...

The Kokatat gasket care instructions suggest to use a ccok pot to stretch the latex gasket: 4 inches larger in diameter than your neck, just for few days, because the gasket will stretch some with use; if not, it may be carefully trimmed. Same instructions for the wrists and so we use four beautiful glasses. The sipper is most vulnerable to damage and need to be occasionally well lubricate.
Today we have not paddled because of the bad weather, so we have to wait next week end to use our new dry suits for the first time...

Grande soddisfazione: abbiamo ricevuto la sponsorizzazione Kokatat!!!
Sono state giornate emozionanti ed un pò convulse: il dispiacere di avere annullato il viaggio di 3 giorni in Istria a causa del cattivo tempo è stato immediatamente sostituito dall'eccitazione di scartare il grosso pacco proveniente da oltre oceano.
La Kokatat ci ha vestito dalla testa ai piedi: mute stagne, sotto mute, paraspruzzi, giubbotti, storm cags, calzari in neoprene e moffole, oltre ad adesivi, gadgets vari, cappelli, magliette e calzoncini per la bella stagione.

Potremo così affrontare i prossimi viaggi in mare vestiti di tutto punto: sia il viaggio invernale ad Ibizia&Formentera in programma tra Natale, Capodanno ed Epifania che quello estivo a Maiorca il prossimo mese di agosto 2011.
Abbiamo trascorso due giorni a scartare, misurare, indossare, ripiegare, sistemare ed ammirare la marea gialla che ha invaso la nostra piccola casetta: abbiamo scelto tutto in giallo, il colore preferito da Mauro ed uno dei più visibili in mare; solo gli storm cags risaltano in arancio salmone, unico colore disponibile.

E quella marea gialla ha pian piano sommerso salone e camera da letto, facendo sparire come per magia non solo gli arredi di casa ma anche il maltempo in città: presi dall'euforia avremmo voluto sfidare la pioggia battente per testare subito in terrazzo la tenuta e l'affidabilità dei prodotti Kokatat... ma poi la stanchezza ha avuto il sopravvento e vincendo la tentazione di indossare il sotto muta come pigiama (è caldissimo!!!) ci siamo rifugiati nel mondo di Orfeo per anticipare in sogno il nostro prossimo viaggio in kayak... vestiti Kokatat!!!

We spent two exciting and a little frantic days: the sadness for the the 3-days trip to Istria that was planned for the past week end and has been cancelled because of bad weather was immediately replaced with the excitement for discarding the big boxe arrived from United States.
Kokatat dresses us from head to feet: dry suits, man's and woman's dry suit liners, spray skirts, PFDs, storm cags, neoprene footwear and mitts, as well as stickers, various gadgest, hats, shirts and shorts for summer time.

We can so face our next sea kayak expeditions fully dressed: both the winter journey to Ibiza&Formentera scheduled between Christmas, New Year and Epiphany and the summer journey to Majorca planned for the month of August 2011.

We spent two days really excited to reject, measure, wear, fold, place and admire the yellow sea that has invaded our little house: we have chosen everything in yellow, the color preferred by Mauro and one of the most visible in the sea; except for the storm cags, in salmon orange, the only available color.

And that yellow sea has gradually submerged the living room and the bedroom, magically disappearing not only the house furniture but also the bad weather: the euphoria pervaded us and we wanted to challenge the pouring rain just to test the Kokatat gear immediately on the terrace... but the tiredness took over and overcoming the temptation to wear the dry suit liner as a pajamas (it's so hot!), we took refuge into the Orfeo's world to dream with our next sea kayak expedition... with Kokatat gear!

Swimming pool for winter season

Siamo ormai entrati nell'inverno, il calendario non si ferma!
Riprendono questa sera i corsi invernali nella piscina di Besozzo: corsi base e di eskimo per due ore consecutive ogni martedì sera dalle 21,30 alle 23,30.
Kayak da mare e da fiume sono messi a disposizione di allievi ed appassionati da Andrea Muller della scuola New Controvento; inoltre, acqua riscaldata in vasca ed un ricco buffet freddo all'uscita renderanno oltremodo confortevoli gli incontri serali infrasettimanali.
Sono disponibili anche i nostri due kayak bianchi groenlandesi, lo Spirito Inuit della Overline ed il Greenland della Tahe Marine, oltre al nuovo modello realizzato da CS Canoe. Quattro mesi di allenamenti garantiti in vista dei prossimi campionati di eskimo di Genova.

Winter is finally arrived, the time doesn't stop!
The winter courses in the swimming pool don't stop as well: eskimo roll classes and training sessions every Tuesday from 21,30 to 23,30 in Besozzo.
Sea kayak and river kayak available and two greenland kayak too; besides, warm water and a rich buffet at the end will make extremely comfort the weekday evening meetings.
Four months of guaranteed practise to win the next edition of the Italian Championship of Eskimo and Greenland Roll in Genoa on March 2011.
