We spent our last day in Malta paddling along the S-W coast: 25 km from the Birzebbuga Bay to the picturesque creek of Wied iz-Zurrieq.
We finally visited the famous "Blue Grotto" caves and we have had once again confirmed that the best way to appreciate the coast is from the sea: in kayak!

The paddle with Albert, Damian and Francis (Jo and Dorian were unfortunately busy at work) was enlivened by epic stories of imaginary "cavalieri" and much laughter.
The spectacular cliffs along the coast really captured our attention and when we disembarked near the local curios fishermen for lunch, they suddenly came to help!
Our return to Marsaxlokk port coincided with the departure of an immense container ship, headinf for Egypt, and our kayaks were nearly invisible compared to the likewise huge cranes on the quayside.
It was a wonderful day's paddling in the company of our new kayaking friends!
